Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions govern all orders placed on Pretty-Map.

Last updated: 11.06.2026

1. Scope of application

These general terms and conditions of sale (hereinafter "T&Cs") govern all sales concluded via the Pretty-Map website (hereinafter "the Site"), operated by Pretty Map - Jaquier, based in Switzerland (hereinafter "we", "our" or "Pretty-Map").

Any order placed on the Site implies full and unconditional acceptance of these T&Cs by the customer (hereinafter "the Customer"). If the Customer does not accept these terms, they are invited not to use the Site or the services offered.

2. Products and services

Pretty-Map offers the creation and sale of custom maps and posters, printed or digital, produced from the information provided by the Customer during the order process.

Each product is made to order according to the choices made by the Customer (location, format, orientation, colours, texts, graphic options, etc.).

As part of an international local printing model, orders destined for delivery outside Switzerland may be produced by a local print partner located in the Customer’s country or delivery region (see section 11). Pretty-Map remains in all cases the sole seller and point of contact for the Customer regarding any question relating to their order.

The visuals presented on the Site are provided for illustrative purposes. Minor rendering differences (colours, contrasts, proportions) may exist between the on-screen preview and the final product, due in particular to screen settings or printing constraints.

3. Legal capacity

The Customer certifies being at least 18 years old or having the authorisation of a legal guardian, and having the legal capacity to enter into a contract.

The Customer is responsible for the accuracy of the information they provide when using the Site and when placing an order.

4. Order process

An order is confirmed when the Customer:

  1. selects the product characteristics,
  2. reviews the order summary,
  3. accepts these T&Cs,
  4. completes payment.

Once an order is confirmed, it is generally no longer possible to modify or cancel it, as the product quickly enters personalised production.

Any modification request after confirmation must be sent as quickly as possible to our support team. We will do our best to accommodate it, without guarantee.

5. Prices

Prices are shown in Swiss francs (CHF) or, depending on the Customer’s location, in the local currency displayed during the order process. All prices include taxes applicable in Switzerland, unless otherwise stated.

For orders placed from abroad, local taxes (VAT or equivalent) applicable in the Customer’s country may be added to or included in the displayed price, in accordance with the legislation in force in that country (see section 13).

Delivery costs, where applicable, are shown separately during the order process.

Pretty-Map reserves the right to change its prices at any time. The price charged is the one in effect at the time the order is confirmed.

6. Payment

The Site uses secure payment solutions compliant with market standards (SSL certificate).

Payments can be made via:

  • credit or debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express),
  • secure payment platforms such as Stripe or PayPal.

Pretty-Map has no access at any time to the Customer's banking data, which is processed exclusively by the payment providers.

7. Delivery

7.1 Printed products — delivery within Switzerland

Orders destined for delivery within Switzerland are produced and shipped from our workshop or a Swiss partner. Delivery times and costs are shown during the order process.

7.2 Printed products — international delivery

For orders destined for delivery outside Switzerland, production is entrusted to a local print partner located in the Customer’s country or delivery region (see section 11). This model avoids the customs fees and delays associated with international shipping from Switzerland.

Production and delivery lead times vary by country and partner. Estimates shown during the order process are indicative only. Pretty-Map cannot be held liable for delays attributable to carriers or events beyond its control.

A tracking number is provided to the Customer as soon as it is available. The parcel may be dispatched under the Pretty-Map brand or under the print partner’s identity, depending on the arrangements in place.

7.3 Digital products

Digital products (if applicable) are provided by download or link, after payment is confirmed.

8. Returns, cancellation and refunds

8.1 Personalised products

As personalised products are made to order, they are not subject to the right of withdrawal once the order is confirmed.

No return or refund will be granted for:

  • an error made by the Customer during personalisation (location, text, format, colours, etc.),
  • a change of mind after the order is confirmed.

8.2 Defective or damaged products

In the event of a product damaged in transit or showing a printing error attributable to Pretty-Map, the Customer must contact our support team within 14 days of receiving the product, providing evidence (photos).

Depending on the case, we will offer a replacement or a refund. Pretty-Map reserves the right to review each request before confirming.

9. Liability

Pretty-Map cannot be held liable for:

  • errors resulting from information provided by the Customer,
  • minor differences between the preview and the final render,
  • delivery delays attributable to carriers or print partners,
  • minor print quality variations inherent in the different techniques and equipment used by our local partners,
  • any indirect or consequential damage.

Pretty-Map carefully selects its print partners and commits to defining contractual quality standards. In the event of a manifest defect attributable to a partner, Pretty-Map will handle the claim and seek a resolution (replacement or refund) in accordance with section 8.

Pretty-Map’s liability is, in all cases, limited to the amount of the order in question.

10. Intellectual property

All content on the Site (texts, visuals, interface, algorithms, map renders, graphic styles) is protected by Swiss copyright law and applicable international conventions.

The Customer has a strictly personal, non-commercial right of use of the purchased product. Any reproduction, resale or commercial exploitation without prior written authorisation from Pretty-Map is prohibited.

The Customer warrants to Pretty-Map that they hold all necessary rights over any personalised elements they submit (texts, logos, photographs, etc.) and that they do not infringe any third-party rights. Pretty-Map cannot be held liable for any unlawful use of such elements.

The Pretty-Map trade mark is a protected commercial mark. Use without prior written authorisation is prohibited.

11. Print partners and local international fulfilment

11.1 Production model

For orders to be delivered outside Switzerland, Pretty-Map works with local print partners (hereinafter “Partners”) located in the Customer’s country or delivery region. These Partners act solely as sub-contractors responsible for the physical production of the poster.

Pretty-Map remains at all times the sole seller with respect to the Customer. The Customer has no direct contractual relationship with the print Partner. For any question or complaint, the Customer contacts Pretty-Map exclusively.

11.2 Transfer of data to the Partner

In order to fulfil the order, Pretty-Map transmits to the relevant print Partner only the information strictly necessary for production and delivery, namely:

  • the poster artwork file (non-personal data),
  • the Customer’s delivery details: first name, last name, full postal address, destination country.

By placing an order, the Customer expressly consents to this transfer of their personal data to the local print Partner, which is necessary for the performance of the sales contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR / Art. 31 FDPA). This transfer is governed by a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) concluded between Pretty-Map and each Partner.

11.3 Partner obligations

Each print Partner is contractually bound to Pretty-Map and commits in particular to:

  • comply with the quality standards defined by Pretty-Map,
  • use the Customer’s data solely for production and delivery purposes,
  • not retain personal data beyond the time necessary to fulfil the order,
  • maintain the confidentiality of artwork files and transmitted data.

11.4 Quality and warranty

Pretty-Map commits to selecting Partners that meet its printing quality standards. Minor rendering variations due to local equipment may nonetheless occur. In the event of a manifest defect, Pretty-Map will handle the claim in accordance with section 8.

12. Personal data and cookies

12.1 Data controller

The data controller is Pretty Map – Jaquier, domiciled in Switzerland, reachable at info@pretty-map.com.

12.2 Data collected and purposes

Pretty-Map collects and processes the Customer’s personal data solely for the following purposes:

  • order fulfilment and tracking (including transfer to the print Partner, see section 11),
  • invoicing and tax obligations,
  • customer support and complaint handling,
  • service improvement (anonymised or aggregated data).

12.3 Legal basis

Processing is based on the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR / Art. 31 FDPA), applicable legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)), and, where applicable, the Customer’s consent (Art. 6(1)(a)).

12.4 International data transfers

In the context of international local printing (section 11), the Customer’s delivery data may be transferred to a Partner located outside Switzerland or outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Such transfers are governed by appropriate contractual safeguards (standard contractual clauses or equivalent).

12.5 Customer rights

In accordance with the GDPR and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FDPA), the Customer has the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, port and object to their data. These rights may be exercised by contacting Pretty-Map at info@pretty-map.com.

12.6 Cookies

The Site uses cookies strictly necessary for its proper functioning. For more information, the Customer is invited to read our privacy policy.

13. VAT and international taxation

Pretty-Map is a company domiciled in Switzerland. Tax obligations vary depending on the Customer’s country of delivery:

  • Customers in Switzerland: Swiss VAT is applied in accordance with applicable legislation (LTVA).
  • Customers in the European Union: local taxes applicable in the Customer’s country may be collected and remitted in accordance with applicable rules. Where applicable, the tax is indicated during the order process.
  • Customers outside the EU and Switzerland: the Customer is responsible for any local tax, customs duty or fiscal obligation applicable in their country. Pretty-Map cannot be held liable for the non-payment of such amounts.

Pretty-Map’s tax obligations may evolve over time. Displayed prices may be adjusted accordingly.

14. OpenStreetMap & sources

Some maps and visuals are made possible thanks to the open data of OpenStreetMap®, used in accordance with the Open Database Licence (ODbL).

In accordance with the ODbL licence obligations, the attribution notice “© OpenStreetMap contributors” appears on every poster produced using these data. Pretty-Map thanks the OpenStreetMap community and supports open data.

15. Amendments to T&Cs

Pretty-Map reserves the right to amend these T&Cs at any time. The applicable T&Cs are those in effect at the time the order is confirmed.

16. Governing law and jurisdiction

These T&Cs are governed by Swiss law, to the exclusion of any other national law.

Any dispute relating to the interpretation or execution of these T&Cs shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent Swiss courts, subject to any mandatory jurisdiction rules applicable to the Customer as a consumer (in particular consumer protection rules in force in the Customer’s country of residence within the European Union).

In the event of a dispute, Pretty-Map and the Customer will endeavour to find an amicable resolution before resorting to legal proceedings.
