Pretty-Map collects the minimum data required for the service to function:

• Editor data: your map settings (location, theme, colours, zoom) are stored locally on your device via your browser's localStorage.
• Email address (optional): only if you choose to be notified by email when a render is complete.
• Order data: when placing an order, the information required for delivery and billing is collected by our payment provider.

We collect no browsing data, IP address, advertising identifier or browser fingerprint.

The map editor uses your browser's localStorage to save your settings and preview history locally, so you can pick up where you left off if you close and reopen the page.

When you launch a render, the map parameters (location, theme, colours, zoom) and the generated preview image are stored on our server. This is necessary to let you retrieve your map from another device (via the email link) and to fulfil a potential order.

This data contains no personally identifiable information (no name, no email, no IP address). It is kept on the server for as long as needed for the service and can be deleted on request.

Local storage is strictly functional and is not used for tracking, profiling or advertising. You can clear it at any time from your browser settings.

When you launch a map render, you may optionally provide your email address to be notified when the render is complete (or in case of an error).

Lifecycle of your email:

• Your email is held only in the server's RAM for the duration of the render.
• As soon as the notification email is sent, your address is immediately deleted from memory.
• Your email is never written to disk, never stored in a database, never retained in a log file.

We use Mailgun for transactional sending. Mailgun retains a sending log in accordance with its own privacy policy. Your email is used for no other purpose (no newsletter, no marketing, no resale).

When placing an order, the data required for fulfilment (name, delivery address, contact email, payment information) is collected and processed by our payment provider. Pretty-Map has no access to your banking details.

Order data is retained for the legally required period for accounting and tax obligations (10 years under Swiss law).

We use Simple Analytics to understand how our site is used (number of visits, pages viewed, traffic sources).

Simple Analytics:

• Places no cookies on your device
• Collects no personal data (no IP address, no identifier, no fingerprinting)
• Is hosted in the European Union
• Is compliant by design with GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive and the Swiss FADP

Pretty-Map places no cookies on your device.

We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, social media cookies, or any third-party cookies of any kind. This is why we do not display a cookie consent banner.

If you are redirected to a third-party service during payment, that service may use its own cookies in accordance with its own privacy policy.

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with any third party for commercial or advertising purposes.

Your data may be passed only to the following providers, strictly necessary for the service to function:

• Mailgun — transactional email sending
• Payment provider — secure payment processing
• Print and delivery service — order fulfilment

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction:

• Encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS) across the entire site
• Server hosted in Europe
• Restricted and authenticated server access
• No personal data stored permanently on the server

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), you have the following rights:

• Right of access: to know what data we hold about you
• Right of rectification: to correct inaccurate data
• Right to erasure: to request deletion of your data
• Right to portability: to receive your data in a structured format
• Right to object: to object to the processing of your data

In practice, since we retain almost no personal data (no user account, email deleted immediately, editor data on your device only), these rights apply primarily to order data.
